Saint Patrick’s Day is coming up soon on March 17, 2024. Since the holiday lands on a Sunday this year, there’s a whole weekend of potential Bay Area fun done the Irish way. From parades and celebrations to drinks and dancing, Carnamic is giving our Bay Area neighbors some ideas for the best ways to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day 2024.

San Francisco Saint Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival 2024

Take part in one of the world’s biggest and best Saint Patrick’s Day parades on Saturday, March 16. Soak in Irish culture with traditional dancing, music, and more. The parade starts at 2nd and Market, ending with a huge block party celebration at Civic Center Plaza. Festivities start at 11:30am, so get there early to get the best views!

Pub Crawls

Be merry at some of the best Irish pubs and restaurants around the Bay Area by taking part in one of the many pub crawls going on all weekend long. Check in at Mayes Oyster House, then venture on to dozens of pubs with drink specials and fun. Get a 3-day pass to make the most of your experience.

Food and Fun

You can get a taste of Ireland at one of the Bay Area’s restaurants and cultural events. The United Irish Cultural Center of San Francisco has family-friendly celebrations on Saturday and Sunday including traditional Irish dishes and music. Or, hit up a delicious restaurant for a bite with your pint like O’Brien’s Irish Pub, The Irish Bank, or Johnny Foley’s Irish House. 

Get Active

Burn some calories before your celebration at one of the area’s 5K runs and walks. Even the kids can take place in the 51st Bay City St. Patrick’s Day Races on March 16 and 17. Other run/walk events include the St. Patrick’s Day 5K in Santa Rosa, the San Jose Shamrock Run, or head to Dublin, CA for the Shamrock 5K Fun Run and Walk.
